Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
Dawaiz ("we") runs the Dawaiz app, which connects people who need medicine with verified pharmacies near them in India. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, and your choices. It applies to patients, family members who order for them, and pharmacy partners.
What we collect
| Information | Why we need it |
|---|---|
| Mobile number | To log you in with a one-time code and to identify your account. |
| Name (optional) and language | To greet you and show the app in Hindi or English. |
| Location and delivery address | To find the nearest open pharmacy and to deliver. We use your location when you order; we do not track you in the background. |
| Prescription and medicine photos | So a registered pharmacist can read and check them before packing. You choose whether to keep them saved in your account. |
| Orders, bills and bill photos | To process your order, show you the final bill, and handle complaints. |
| Device notification token | To send order updates to your phone. |
| Pharmacy partners: shop details, drug licence number and photos, shop photo, pharmacist details, shop location and hours | To verify the shop before it gets orders, to remind it before the licence expires, and to send it nearby orders while it is open. |
Medicine orders and prescriptions are health information. We treat them as sensitive and use them only to fulfil your order.
Who sees your information
- The pharmacy that accepts your order sees your medicines, prescription or photo, delivery address and note. Pharmacies that are only asked (and do not accept) see the medicines, your note and the distance, not your address.
- The pharmacy's delivery person gets a one-time link that shows only the delivery address, the number of items and the amount to collect. It does not show your name or phone number, and it stops working after delivery.
- Calls between you and the delivery person go through a calling service so that neither side sees the other's number.
- Service providers who run parts of the app for us: Supabase (database and storage), Google Firebase (sending and checking login codes), Expo (app notifications), and our calling and SMS providers. They process data only to provide their service to us.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show your health information to advertisers.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and order history while your account is active, and as long as the law requires for medicine sale records. Prescription photos you did not choose to save are kept only as long as needed for the order and its records. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal information, except what we must keep by law.
Your choices and rights
- See and correct your name, language and saved addresses in the app.
- Turn notifications off in your phone settings.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to delete your account, using the contact below.
- Withdraw consent to keep saved prescriptions at any time.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Each user and pharmacy can reach only their own records; prescription and licence photos are kept in private storage. No system is perfectly secure, and we will inform you and the authorities of a breach as the law requires.
Children
The app is meant for adults. A parent or guardian should place orders for a child.
Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and show the new date at the top. For important changes we will also tell you in the app.
